007. The Nymph
The vase is based on a design called vase
Boizot (after the 18th century designer, Louis-Simon Boizot), made
at the Sèvres Porcelain Manufactory in 1868. The decorator
Solon painted the figure of a nymph rowing a boat in pâte
sur pâte. The pâte on the original vase is pink. The
vase is currently in the Sèvres Museum, Paris. Watercolor
and gouache on paper.
