029. A Standstill
The bowl in this painting is a sugar bowl
with the top cover removed. It was made by the Sèvres Porcelain
Manufactory, 1812-1817. It is from the Service ‘Iconographique
Grec’; this piece is called Sucrier ‘Aigle’ (eagle
sugar bowl). It is currently in a private collection. Watercolor
and gouache on gesso board.
