031. Harmony
This fruit bowl was produced by the Sèvres
Porcelain Manufactory in 1819 and is called Jatte à Fruits
‘Hémisphérique.’ It comes from a service
called Service ‘des Oiseaux d’Amérique du Sud’
(The Birds of South America). The birds for this service were
painted by Mme Knip (Pauline de Courcelles) over a period of more
than three years. The service was delivered in 1826, on the orders
of King Charles X, to the dauphine. Watercolor and gouache on
gesso board.
